Add-On Fluoride & Arsenic Reduction for Your Berkey® System

The Berkey® PF-2™ Fluoride & Arsenic Reduction Filters are designed to work in conjunction with Black Berkey® Elements, attaching to the bottom of each element and hanging into the lower chamber of your Berkey® system. Compatible with the Travel, Big, Royal, Imperial, Crown, and Berkey Light systems (not compatible with the Go Berkey Kit), they target the entire family of arsenic oxide anions as well as arsenic cations, and reduce fluoride to less than 1 ppm under typical conditions — and below 50 ppb under optimum conditions. Constructed from non-leaching BPA-free polypropylene #5, each set of 2 filters has a capacity of 3,785 litres and reduces filtration flow rate by 15–20%. Note: the number of PF-2 filters must match the number of Black Berkey® Elements in your system.

Under normal use, replace PF-2 filters after approximately 3,785 litres — roughly every 12 months if refilled once daily, or every 6 months if refilled twice daily. High levels of fluoride or arsenic in source water may reduce capacity. Filters must be primed before first use using the included priming button: flush each filter from both ends for at least 10 minutes or until water runs clear. High-grade activated alumina (Al₂O₃) is used as the filtration media — inert and safe — and when used in combination with Black Berkey® Elements, net aluminum levels in filtered water are actually reduced compared to the source water.
