The Gold Standard in Gravity-Fed Water Purification

The Berkey® Light is a lightweight, high-capacity gravity water purification system designed for 2–4 people — and built to go wherever you need it. Unlike the stainless steel Berkey® systems, it’s constructed from a non-BPA/BPS copolyester that retains no foul odours, making it ideal for travel, outdoor use, or emergency preparedness. It comes with 2 Black Berkey® Purification Elements that remove or reduce up to 99.9999999% of pathogenic bacteria and up to 99.999% of viruses — far exceeding EPA and NSF standards — while purifying raw or untreated water of volatile organic compounds, trihalomethanes, heavy metals (including lead), pharmaceuticals, pesticides, PFCs, herbicides, and radiologicals.

With a 2.75-gallon lower chamber and a flow rate of up to 4 gallons per hour, the Berkey® Light is expandable to 4 Black Berkey® Elements for increased output. Each set of 2 elements provides up to 6,000 gallons (approx. 5 years) of purification. At 9″ diameter × 26.5″ height (with base) and just 6 lbs empty, it’s the lightest full-size Berkey® system available — clean water, anywhere.
